PyCode Academy is a part of Lumen Path Foundation, a non-profit (EIN 88-4035419) with a mission to help educate youth around the world by providing them with training, mentoring, funding, and other educational assistance towards improving their lives, especially in underprivileged communities.
We help achieve this mission by bringing free, year-round computer science and AI education to students. Our goal is to nurture students' passion for computer science and STEM disciplines and equip them with the programming and problem-solving skills that will be crucial for future STEM careers.
We conduct weekly online coding classes, free of cost, for students in all ability levels
Help and guide students to prepare for contests such as the American Computer Science League (ACSL) and USA Computing Olympiad (USACO)
Host coding competitions and all create a community for students to thrive in and learn together
Help develop problem solving skills that will help students in any logical endeavor in STEM and other fields
Bring expertise from industry professionals to middle and high school students to learn about future career paths related to programming
PyCode Academy consists of many student leaders, who manage different aspects of the organization. Classes are taught by volunteer instructors - a mix of high school students, college students and adult volunteers. Many have qualified in national competitions such as USACO and ACSL. Many have multiple years of experience in competitive programming and teaching programming classes.
